The manikin is versatile and enables the intervention of various physical techniques that can be performed in a seated or lying position. It differs from other manikins and has a unique arm/hand design, as the gloved hands articulate at the correct pressure points. To promote proper casualty care, an immobilisation/extrication collar can be fitted around the neck of the adult manikin. Additionally, the manikin can be enhanced with an optional Shoutbox feature, where the user can personalise a recorded message which can be periodically repeated.
To provide a realistic experience, it provides an anatomically correct weight distribution and gives the ??feel of an unconscious casualty. The soft body joints eliminate the risk associated with plastic bodied manikins, such as the risk of pinch welts and bruising.
The manikin is constructed using the same flame-retardant material which is used in Police ballistic/stab vests. This makes it durable and tough enough to withstand being buried under concrete or steel lintels, driven over by a 4x4 vehicle, as well as dropped from a 2nd floor window without damage. It should be noted that it is not suitable for use in temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius, flashover scenarios or in water.
